Making An Appointment

We do our best to be available at a time to suit you.  Seven days a week by appointment.

What is going to happen in the session?

Most people feel nervous, embarrassed or worried before the first meeting. However, each of our psychologists will use their skills and training to work with you to deal with the things that hurt. We help you get in touch with your wisdom about how you would like your life to be - then we give you the skills training so that you can get there.

How long will we be working together?

The type of difficulties that you are experiencing will largely determine the number of sessions that you need. While many people can be helped with just one or two visits, others need longer to fully disentangle the many factors impacting upon their lives.

Because the focus of sessions is on understanding how problems affect your life in the here and now, and to develop skills for the future, the length of contact with the practice is likely to be much shorter than long term therapy offered elsewhere.

How do I know this is the best treatment for me?

The Psychologists at the Armchair Psychology Practice have undertaken years of training and experience to develop skills that are internationally proven to be the most cost effective for a vast range of problems encountered throughout the lifespan. They have also made a commitment to continue to develop and maintain skills to provide the best possible treatment for their clients.

What about confidentiality?

All information discussed in session will be confidential. Any notes or materials collected in session will be securely and privately stored. However, if at any stage of your contact with the Practice you are at serious risk of harming yourself or others, some details about you may be released to other professionals to secure your safety.

What will all this cost?

Please see Fees and Conditions.

Corporate Clients

For Corporate clients, we can counsel your employees at our rooms. Alternatively, one or more of our psychologists can come to your workplace to work with groups of employees or managers on sensitive areas such as stress management, crisis management, employee relations, and gender issues.

When you Contact Us at Armchair Psychology Practice to make your initial appointment, we suggest you book a time with whichever of our psychologists is available when it suits you. Normally you will be seen within 48 hours - sooner in times of crisis.
